Granny’s Seasoned Oyster Crackers

June 8, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

These snack crackers were standbys at every get-together I can remember.  My husband especially loved these, and Granny used to make him his own bag to take with him.  They are so tasty and so easy!

Oyster Crackers

12 – 16 oz. package plain oyster crackers

1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix

1/4 t. lemon pepper

1 t. dill weed

1/4 t. garlic powder

3/4 – 1 c. oil (I used olive, but you can use almost any kind)

Note: Aldi sells 10 oz. bags of oyster crackers, so I used 1/2 c. oil.

In a large bowl, mix oil and seasonings.

Once those are blended, stir in oyster crackers.

Toss to completely coat crackers in mixture.

Usually, I spread on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 15 – 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.  However, this time I used the directions Granny had hand-written on the back: Microwave on high for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.

It was hard to keep them from burning while microwaving, so I’d recommend using the oven directions if your microwave is newer (read: hotter).

Enjoy!
